ForeverChemicals CNY is an independent public interest advocacy campaign organized by Central New York residents, engineers, and scientists. We are not a political organization. We are not funded by Micron's competitors. We are people who read the documents and believe the public deserves the truth.
“To ensure that Micron Technology’s semiconductor manufacturing facility in Clay, New York is built with enforceable PFAS discharge protections that protect the drinking water of Central New York, the St. Lawrence River, and the downstream communities that depend on them — by securing enforceable PFAS limits in the Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit before the Onondaga County Legislature authorizes the bond for the Industrial Treatment Plant.”
We are not asking to stop Micron. We are asking that the most advanced semiconductor facility in United States history be matched with the most advanced environmental protection available — and that the treatment system be designed with full knowledge of what it must treat. These are reasonable, technically sound, time-sensitive demands.
The window to act is before the Oak Orchard Industrial Treatment Train design-build RFP is issued. Once the contract is awarded and concrete is poured, the opportunity to require destruction-capable treatment technology, full chemical disclosure, and proper monitoring is gone. We are acting now because now is when it matters.
This campaign is led by Central New York residents with professional backgrounds in fuel system engineering, environmental compliance, regulatory law, and environmental science. We are not affiliated with any political party, any competing semiconductor company, or any national environmental organization.
ForeverChemicals CNY is currently an unincorporated advocacy campaign. We are in the process of evaluating formation as a New York State not-for-profit corporation. If you are interested in supporting this effort financially or organizationally, please contact us.
